How To Buy Gold

should i buy gold and silver to prepare for hyperinflation?
if the dollar collapses completely and golld and silver become the only way to put food on the table, where should i buy it from? how would i get ounces of it, and is anybody else doing that already?
Do you have $1800 for one ounce? If not, don’t worry about gold. Silver is about $40 per ounce. There are numerous places to buy it – Google “buy silver” and you’ll have plenty of places.
Personally I have about $3,000 in gold and that is through an ETF rather than the real metal. I also have a couple thousand dollars in silver coins stashed away. But I wouldn’t go whole-hog into either metal right now. Why? From a practical standpoint, let’s say you buy $2,000 in silver, about 50 ounces. Hyperinflation hits and it’s now worth $5,000. That’s $100 per ounce. That will get you by for what, a month or two tops? Then what? The alternative is to dump big money into metals. Let’s say you put $100K in and you are wrong about hyperinflation (and I think you are) and the metals go down to the level they were two years ago. You now have $50,000 or less. The point is, the downside is almost as big as the upside, and I think the downside is much more likely to happen.
